UnholyLand

Every metal band Israel has ever spawned — on one dark map. A non-commercial project mapping the Israeli metal scene: every band past and present, colored by genre, connected through the musicians they've shared.

Data & Sources

Everything on the map is computed from documented data — releases, credited lineups and archived shows. Nothing is curated, promoted or ranked by hand. Verified factual corrections are applied on top of every refresh of the archive, never as silent edits.

Core band data comes from the incredible Encyclopaedia Metallum — The Metal Archives, the definitive encyclopedia of metal, maintained by its community for over two decades. Every band page here links back to its Metallum entry.

Corrections are made here. A band signs in at the portal and edits its own record — the facts, the logo, the photograph — or enters itself if this archive does not hold it yet. Every submission is read before it lands, and what is accepted is re-applied on top of each refresh from then on, so it never has to be sent twice.

The documented-shows archive is cross-collected from metalist.co.il (galleries, reviews and event listings), setlist.fm (worldwide setlists, identity-checked against MusicBrainz), the scene's video archives on YouTube (Beeran Productions, Grebulon, SMZ Artworks, Headbanging Israel), flyer and tour-poster archives kept by the bands and their fans, venue calendars and festival archives. Every show record names its sources and links back to the evidence. Audio players are embedded from the bands' own Bandcamp pages.
